Combination for Conflicting Interval‐Valued Belief Structures with CSUI‐DST Method

چکیده
Since the basic probability of an interval-valued belief structure (IBS) is assigned as interval number, its combination becomes difficult. Especially, when dealing with highly conflicting IBSs, most existing methods may cause counter-intuitive results, which can bring extra heavy computational burden due to nonlinear optimization model, and lose good property associativity commutativity in Dempster-Shafer theory (DST). To address these problems, a novel IBSs method named CSUI (conflict, similarity, uncertainty, intuitionistic fuzzy sets)-DST proposed by introducing similarity measurement measure degree conflict among uncertainty discord, non-specificity fuzziness IBSs. Considering two measures at same time, weight each IBS determined according modified reliability degree. From perspective sets, we propose weighted average rule addition number multiplication operators. The effectiveness rationality this are validated numerical examples application target recognition.

Analyzing the combination of conflicting belief functions
We consider uncertain data which uncertainty is represented by belief functions and that must be combined. The result of the combination of the belief functions can be partially conflictual. Initially Shafer proposed Dempster’s rule of combination where the conflict is reallocated proportionally among the other masses. Then Zadeh presented an example where Dempster’s rule of combination produce...
متن کاملAlgebraic Structures Related to the Combination of Belief Functions
Based on a new demand — the commutativity of belief functions combination with refinement/coarsening of the frame of discernment — the role of the disjunctive rule of combination has increased. To compare the nature of this rule with a more frequent but also more controversional one, i.e. with Dempster’s rule, an algebraic analysis was used. The basic necessary definitions both from the Dempste...
متن کاملOn the combination and normalization of interval-valued belief structures
This paper investigates the issues of combination and normalization of interval-valued belief structures within the framework of Dempster–Shafer theory (DST) of evidence. Existing approaches are reviewed, examined and critically analysed. They either ignore the normalization or separate it from the combination process, leading to irrational or suboptimal interval-valued belief structures. A new...
متن کاملSolving Conflicting Beliefs with a Distributed Belief Revision Approach
The ability to solve conflicting beliefs is crucial for multiagent systems where the information is dynamic, incomplete, and distributed over a group of individuals. The individual agents have partial views and, frequently, hold disparate beliefs regarding shared information. The nature of these conflicts is dynamic and requires adequate methodologies for dynamic conflict resolution. The propos...
متن کاملReasoning with imprecise belief structures
This paper extends the theory of belief functions by introducing new concepts and techniques, allowing to model the situation in which the beliefs held by a rational agent may only be expressed (or are only known) with some imprecision. Central to our approach is the concept of intervalvalued belief structure, defined as a set of belief structures verifying certain constraints. Starting from th...
